Burkina Faso lies in the Sudanese climate zone.

The dry season lasts from October to April. During these months the so-called Harmattan, a hot desert wind that carries so much finest sand that the sun appears behind a dense veil, blows.

The rainy season runs from June to October.

The hottest months are April and May with temperatures around 45°C. In the south there is a fairly constant temperature of 28-32°C throughout the year, rainfall is also more frequent in the south. The humidity is very high, the dry season lasts in the south only 2 to 3 months.
