Bulgaria

The climate in Bulgaria is very different, but mainly continental. In the mountains in the west the summers are warm and short, the winters long and cold with longer lasting snow cover. The rest of the country has a temperate climate with hot summers and sometimes cold winters. In a strip of the Black Sea coast only about 50 kilometres wide, summers are very warm and dry, with most precipitation in the winter months, which are somewhat milder than in the rest of the country. The warmest regions are the south and the Black Sea coast.

The best time for a beach holiday is from June to the beginning of September. Then the water temperatures are correspondingly pleasant. In the winter months the ski areas in the western mountains are worth a trip for ski holidaymakers. Here the months December to March offer themselves.
