Climate Costa Rica
Costa Rica extends between the 8th and 11th latitude and lies between the Atlantic and the Pacific. It has a tropical climate with differences between the Caribbean and Pacific coasts. In the capital San José in the interior of the country, 1866 mm of rain fall in the year, in Puerto Limón at the Caribbean coast with 3384 mm almost double. On the Pacific coast there is a rainy season (May to November) and a dry season (December to April), while on the Caribbean coast rain falls all year round. The annual average temperatures are between 25 and 30 degrees depending on the region and hardly show a seasonal course.
If you travel to the Pacific coast, you should choose the dry season from December to April. On the Caribbean coast the months February and March as well as September and October are not quite as wet as the other months.
