Cyprus has a predominantly Mediterranean climate, but often there are also hot desert winds blowing over the island. In July and August it is very hot and dry with average maximum temperatures of 35 to 37 degrees, temperatures around or over 40 degrees occur again and again. More pleasant are the values from April to June as well as in the months September and October. The water temperatures reach 24 to 28 degrees in the summer months and 17 degrees in the winter. While almost no rain falls in summer, there are 8 to 10 rainy days per month in the winter months. Cyprus also has an average of 320 sunny days.

The best time to travel to Cyprus is from April to June and from September to October.
