Climate El Salvador
El Salvador is characterised by a tropical climate with only slight temperature differences throughout the year. From November to April, the northeast trade wind ensures a dry season. Precipitation coming from the northeast then already falls over Honduras. In the remaining months the rainy season prevails. Then the predominant part of the annual precipitation goes down. The usual annual precipitation amounts are between 1700 and 2300 mm. The temperatures vary within the country depending on the altitude. Hot climate with year-round highs between 30 and 31 degrees can be found on the coast. In the higher altitudes, on the other hand, the climate is much cooler.
For trips to El Salvador, the dry season from November to April is recommended. Between June and November, the country can be on the track of a hurricane.
