Climate Guinea-Bissau

Climate Northern Africa

Guinea-Bissau has a tropical climate with a clearly differentiated rain or dry season. The rainy season usually lasts from May to early November. At the beginning as well as at the end of the rainy season there are strong thunderstorm-rainfalls. The main rainy season in July and August is characterised by persistent rainfall. To the north, however, the rainfall during the rainy season decreases significantly. The dry season extends approximately from November to May, and the northern and eastern parts of the country are already in the dry border zone of the Sahel region. Temperatures rise as you move further away from the coast. The average annual temperature in Bissau is 26.3°C, although maximum temperatures of 35-40°C are not uncommon.

For a trip to Guinea-Bissau we recommend the months November to April.
