The Kyrgyz Republic has a continental climate with dry and hot summers. Rainfalls are very rare. Winters are cold and snowy, both in the mountains and in the valleys, with most of the snow usually falling in January. The lowest temperatures of the year are measured at the beginning of the year. Average night temperatures of -15°C are not uncommon at this time of year. During the day, average temperatures of about -5°C are usually reached in January.

The highest temperatures of the year are usually measured between July and August. During this time, the thermometer often rises to an average temperature of almost 30°C. The temperature of the sun is usually around -5°C in January.

The best time to travel is between March and October. The months of July and August are particularly suitable for mountain tours, the ski season runs from December to April.
