Despite its mountainous location, Liechtenstein's climate is mild and strongly influenced by the warm foehn. In winter it is often foggy and cold in the valleys, but sunny and warmer in the mountains. The average temperature in winter is between 3 and 7°C. In summer the valleys are often sunny and warm, the mountain peaks foggy. The average temperatures measured in the summer are about 28°C. Most rain falls in the summer months from May to September.

The months from May to September are ideal for a summer holiday. A winter holiday in Liechtenstein is best in the months from December to March.
