Climate Northern Africa

Togo has for the most part a tropical climate, but in the north almost a steppe climate.

In the north there are two seasons, a longer dry season and a shorter rainy season. The rainy season runs from April to October and reaches its peak in August. This is also the coolest month with midday temperatures around 30°C and a humidity of about 76 percent. At this time there are also stronger fluctuations between day and night temperatures. The dry season runs from November to March. January has the lowest humidity with 22 percent. Average temperatures are 35°C. March is the hottest month with midday temperatures around 39°C.

There are two rainy seasons in the south and middle of the country: March to July and September to October, with the rainiest months being June and October. The warmest month is March with midday temperatures of 32°C. The humidity in June is about 80 per cent and the average temperature is 20-26°C. The average temperature is between 20 and 26°C. There are also two dry seasons from November to February and in August. The driest month is December, the coolest month August with midday temperatures of about 27°C. The lowest humidity is in December with 54 percent. The average temperatures are about 27-32°C.

Directly on the coast it is pleasant from December to March. But if you want to go further inland, you should only visit the country until February.
