Climate Greece
Greece has a predominantly Mediterranean climate with hot, dry summers and mild, humid winters. Only in the mountain regions inland as well as on Crete snow has to be expected in the winter months. Otherwise the temperatures usually remain above 5 degrees even in winter. In summer, temperatures climb over 30 degrees almost daily. The annual precipitation fluctuates between 400 and 1,000 mm. In the north and west it is more humid than in the south. In the interior of the country, heavy thunderstorms are to be expected in summer.
The months of June to September are the best months for a beach holiday in the Mediterranean. Because of the hot summer days, it is better to visit the city in spring or autumn.
