Climate Niger

Climate Northern Africa

Niger has a Sahara climate with two distinctly different seasons. The dry season lasts from November to May (it extends from south to north). The daily temperatures measured during this period usually fluctuate between 25 and 40°C. The temperature of the sun is usually between 25 and 40°C. At night it then usually cools down considerably; in the north the temperatures sometimes even reach freezing point. In the weeks from April to June the temperatures usually rise a little, so that temperatures of 48°C in the shade are not uncommon.

The rainy season in the south lasts from June to October. Rainfall decreases from south to north and from west to east. Also during the rainy season the temperatures are usually very high.

For Central Europeans, the best time to travel is from early November to March.
